The first impression of a Siberian cat is one of power. The cat is really a child of nature. Especially the males impress by their appearance. Siberian Forest Cats show a rounded, balanced look with well defined muscles. The paws are big and sturdy, wit tufts of hair between the toes. Typical too are the very expressive eyes.

Siberian Forest Cats can weigh up to 6 and even 8 kilo. This unexpected weight does not mean that the cat is too fat, but is simply due to the heavy boning and the well developed muscles of the cat. Sometimes these cats dserve the name “Hercules”.

A Siberian Forest Cat grows slower thant the xommon housecat and it takes a Siberian about five years to develop fully. The Siberian is an excellent hunter and well adapted to survivie in a climate of extreme temperatures. They can support temperatures of –40°. The reason is that they possess a fur coat of three layers. They can themselves take care of this coat; only during the moulting-time they need some human help
